17 May 2013 DHA launches exclusive residential development in Sydney

Defence Housing Australia (DHA) has launched its latest residential development in the sought-after suburb Lindfield, in Sydney’s North Shore.

Crimson Hill will comprise 345 dwellings including a mix of land lots, homes and apartments and will be DHA’s first large-scale foray into the apartment market in Sydney.

DHA Managing Director Peter Howman said the project was a significant milestone. 

“Crimson Hill is the perfect example of how DHA are proving to be a leader in residential
development,” Mr Howman said.

“We want to give people more options to meet society’s changing housing needs. We want to give people a lifestyle that is unparalleled in Sydney.”

“As part of the development, DHA is also upgrading the sporting field, providing a purpose-built community facility and improving access to open spaces, which will benefit local residents and the community.”

While DHA's primary function is to supply housing and related services to Defence members and their families, Crimson Hill will also deliver prestige property to the general market. DHA is expecting to retain 173 properties, with the 10 land lots and remaining properties will be sold on the open market by Colliers International.

The first sales release is 10 land lots ranging in size from 577sqm to 936sqm in the Hamilton Corner precinct. These are to be auctioned on Saturday 6 July and prices are expected to start from $900,000.

Mr Howman said Crimson Hill will provide unprecedented access to some of Sydney’s most beautiful property, surrounded by natural bushland and within close reach of the North Shore’s abundant mix of schools, shopping, entertainment, transport and leisure facilities.

“We’re very enthusiastic about this masterplan and are confident Crimson Hill will deliver stunning new houses and apartments within a unique inner-Sydney bushland setting,” he said.

DHA currently manages more than 19,000 properties across Australia worth about 
$10 billion.
