27 October 2016 DHA General Manager takes home prize at national customer service awards in Melbourne

Last night Defence Housing Australia (DHA) General Manager, Property and Tenancy Services Brett Jorgensen won Customer Service Executive of the Year at the 15th annual Australian Service Excellence Awards (ASEA).

Mr Jorgensen accepted his award at a ceremony held at the Crown Palladium Melbourne in front of DHA colleagues and fellow nominees.

The awards from the Customer Service Institute of Australia (CSIA) recognise leading service providers, organisations and individuals across a range of industries.

ASEA are Australia’s premier customer service awards, with more than 650 attendees coming together each year to recognise best practice and innovation in customer service.

DHA Acting Managing Director Jan Mason was at the Melbourne ceremony and congratulated Mr Jorgensen on his achievement.

‘As I am sure people have heard me say many times, excellent customer service is the core of DHA’s success,’ Ms Mason said. ‘This award is independent recognition of the strengths of our customer service.’

Mr Jorgensen has been a driving force behind improving customer services at DHA since taking on the role of General Manager, Property and Tenancy Services seven years ago.

The division that Mr Jorgensen successfully manages is responsible for housing allocation, tenancy management and the provision of maintenance services. This team is comprised of six directories at head office, four contact centres and property management staff in 13 regional offices across Australia.

Mr Jorgensen is committed to DHA’s corporate objectives of excellence in customer service for Australian Defence Force members. He is continually analysing the way the business operates in order to improve customer service.

Through his actions Mr Jorgensen leads by example from within his division and for staff across the business.
