09 January 2013 DHA awards FMIS tender

Defence Housing Australia (DHA) is pleased to announce the appointment of TechnologyOne to supply and implement a new finance system for the business enterprise.

The appointment, which is the end result of a rigorous tender process, will see the implementation of a system capable of meeting DHA financial management needs both now and for the future. This will include an increase of DHA's project financial management capability.

'TechnologyOne is a well-respected Australian-owned provider, with more than 800 customers, of which 41 are in Canberra,' DHA's Managing Director Peter Howman said.

'TechnologyOne has shown steady annual growth over the past 20 years, and has a very high rate of retention of customers.'

The project was established early last year with the goal to replace the 15-year-old existing system. The subsequent tender was released in July 2012, and included a rigorous evaluation process as well as demonstrations of systems and subsequent follow-up queries and discussions with the short-listed tenderers.

'DHA key stakeholders visited the TechnologyOne head office in Brisbane late last year where we met with key executives to further discuss the project. A series of contract negotiation meetings followed and resulted in the contract being signed on 24 December 2012,' Mr Howman said.

Project implementation planning has commenced, and a detailed project plan will be agreed by the end of January. Workshops will be conducted during February and March to define and confirm the business processes as a basis of system design. User testing by DHA and user training will occur around August/September and the new system is planned to be live in October 2013.
