Defence Housing Australia’s Chair, the Hon Sandy Macdonald, has welcomed today’s announcement by Government that it will not proceed with a sale.
‘Defence Housing Australia (DHA) commends the Government’s decision. It is a vote of confidence in the way we serve Defence members and their families,’ Mr Macdonald said.
DHA has cooperated diligently, from the Board level to our officers in the field, with the Department of Finance since September last year.
Mr Macdonald said DHA is excited to be given the opportunity to review some of our practices such as accounting, information technology and business reporting.
‘DHA is delighted to continue to work with the Department of Finance to review some of business practices. DHA has a culture of continuous improvement so we welcome the opportunity to look at ways to enhance the service to Defence members and their families. Our Defence members always come first,’ Mr Macdonald said.
