Federal Minister for Defence Personnel and Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, Matt Keogh was joined in Rockingham, near Perth today by Defence Housing Australia (DHA) Chair, Dr Robert Lang and Acting Managing Director, Brett Jorgensen to announce agreements that will deliver hundreds of homes for Defence member accommodation.
The Minister was joined by Federal Member for Brand, Madeleine King; Western Australian (WA) Minister for Defence Industry and Veterans Issues, Paul Papalia; WA Minister for Energy, Environment, and Climate Action and Member for Baldivis, Reece Whitby, and senior Defence personnel at WA developer, Parcel Property’s Baldivis estate.
The first agreements between DHA, Parcel Property and Western Australian builders, Forma Homes and Plunkett Homes are part of DHA’s New Builds Volume Leasing Program (NBVLP). These initial NBVLP agreements will see Parcel, Forma and Plunkett deliver approximately 550 investor-purchased homes with long-term leases in place with DHA for Defence members and their families.
The first dwellings as part of the Rockingham NBVLP are expected to be delivered in the financial year 2025-26.
Further information on the agreement is available in this Ministerial media release. Information regarding leasing a property to DHA is available on the Investment Opportunities page.
