Yesterday, Minister for Defence Personnel, the Hon Matt Keogh MP announced the completion of two significant Defence Housing Australia (DHA) developments, celebrating the delivery of 113 newly built properties across Coombs and Campbell in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.

Minister Keogh marked the milestone with a ribbon cutting ceremony at The Crossing development located in Coombs. Joining in attendance was Member for Bean David Smith, DHA Chair Dr Robert Lang and DHA Managing Director Andrew Jaggers.

The Crossing development
The 113 properties have been designed to provide modern and sustainable living, with 76 properties allocated to house Defence members and their families, and the remaining 37 properties sold to the private market.
The Crossing development was completed by Monarch Building Solutions and delivered 83 two-and-three-bedroom contemporary townhouses. The properties comprise of 46 DHA-owned homes, with the remaining 37 sold privately.
Projex Building Group redeveloped Academy Close in Campbell, delivering 30 sustainable and architecturally designed three-and-four-bedroom townhouses and detached homes to Defence members and their families. DHA managed the redevelopment of Academy Close on behalf of Defence.
Academy Close development
Strategically positioned to support Defence members, the developments are conveniently located near the Australian Defence Force Academy, the Royal Military College, Defence Force College and Defence Russell Offices. Both developments are in proximity to a range of communal amenities, schools and medical facilities.
These properties have been completed at an ideal time ahead of Defence posting movements. The first Defence member will move into a property at The Crossing tomorrow and at Academy Close some properties are already tenanted.
