A ribbon cutting ceremony carried out by the Assistant Minister for Defence and Veterans Affairs, The Hon. Matt Thistlethwaite MP, alongside DHA’s Chair, Dr Robert Lang and the Federal Member for Adelaide, Mr Steve Georganas MP, formally opened Defence Housing Australia’s (DHA) Angle Park housing development.
Situated in Angle Park, Northwest of Adelaide, this newly established residential community is poised to accommodate 54 Defence members and their families, with 14 dwellings already completed. Its strategic location, 25 kilometres from the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Edinburgh and nine kilometres from Adelaide, ensures convenience for its residents, complemented by accessible public transport and linking roads.
Assistant Minister Thistlethwaite underscored the significance of this development for both the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and the broader community.
“I’m delighted to open the first homes within the Angle Park development, which offers modern amenities suitable for Defence families in a central location, close to the Adelaide CBD.” said Thistlethwaite.
Looking ahead, the 6.48-hectare parcel of land acquired through Renewal SA will provide an additional 31 residences for ADF members, through DHA’s Build to Lease program.
With completion scheduled for June next year, Northwest Quarter promises a thriving community for Defence personnel and their families at Angle Park.
